Annual Percentage Yield

Annual Percentage Yield, or APY for short, is the annual rate of return for compounded interest. It is often used for interest bearing savings accounts. credit cards and general investments. To compute APY, one needs to assume that the funds will remain on the deposit or investment for a full 365 day period.
